CSL’s Commissioning Skills Development (CSD) service builds capability in both individuals and organisations by supporting the development of commissioning professionals. We believe a detailed understanding of the commissioning function and its delivery cycle supports better provision of services across the NHS.
Our programmes address the processes, relationships and risks involved throughout the commissioning cycle and help commissioners to achieve tangible improvements and value for money for their populations.

We have developed a self-assessment tool that can be used in conjunction with the individual commissioning competencies handbook.
We provide practical resources to make commissioning more accessible and establish a common level of understanding across London. This section includes toolkits to improve commercial knowledge, and to assess commissioning competencies, and useful reference materials to increase your knowledge of the commissioning function.
